Providing for the Homeless!

“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” Proverbs 19:17

Over the last six months, Genesis Covenant Church has done extensive research on encampments in our area. One of the encampments brought to our attention is located in a wooded area near a shopping center. It has been observed and noted that these homeless persons leave the encampment every morning to go to jobs, job interviews, and other places. We have been informed that persons in this encampment lack some very simple personal items. In an effort to provide assistance to this population of homeless persons, emergency bags were prepared for distribution. (Please see pictures)

The emergency bags consist of masks, sanitizer, potted meat, cracker sticks, apple sauce, box of tuna salad, granola or breakfast bar, toothpaste, tooth brush, travel kit, flushable wipes, body wash, lotion, pack of tissue, sanitary pads for women, water, deodorant and other necessities.

This small gesture will not provide all that is needed, but it will provide some relief to this homeless population. In your travels, if you see tents set up in wooded areas, shopping centers, in your community and other places, it is probably a place of sheltering for the homeless.

Your contribution to this endeavor is deeply appreciated.
