Teacher Appreciation!

“Education is the key to success in life, and teachers make a lasting impact in the lives of their students.” Solomon Ortiz

May 4th is National Teacher Appreciation Day, a day to celebrate teachers. Genesis Covenant Church decided this year to host a luncheon for a Prince George’s County Public School. It was suggested we provide the luncheon for the educators at Gwynn Park Middle School, since this is the location where we hold our Sunday morning worship service and Sunday School.

The more than 45 educators were delighted and very appreciative that they were thought of and given special attention. We believe that teachers are under paid and under-appreciated, therefore Genesis Covenant Church thought it not robbery to show some love to some very dedicated and deserving individuals.

Genesis Covenant Church has members who are educators and wish for them to know that they are deeply appreciated also. Without teachers, the world would be lost. For we know that knowledge is powerful.

Genesis Covenant Church has embraced this as one of our outreach ministries and look forward to being a blessing to some other school next year.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character, that is the goal of true education.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
