Billie’s Kitchen has been operating since February 3, 2022, and has truly been a blessing to a larger homeless population in Prince George’s County. Bi-weekly, bagged meals are prepared by two individuals for fifty persons who may be hungry. The bagged meals consist of a sandwich, bag of chips, a sweet drink, cookie, wipes, and fruit cup. Once the bags have been prepared, they are delivered to the agency for distribution.
Genesis Covenant Church was informed by a local government official that there was a significant need by the homeless population. The simplest of items would be a tremendous help. Because of your commitment to the needy, this ministry has been a tremendous success and benefit to many.
Billie’s Kitchen is named in memory of a beloved sister, Billie Brown. Those of you who remember Billie Brown may recall how she would prepare bagged meals for the homeless on Saturdays. After preparing them, she would drive through the communities and distribute the meals. Billie Brown did this remarkable task until her health failed her. We are grateful that Genesis Covenant Church has been able to keep the vision alive.
Thanks to all the hands and hearts that have provided thus far to this ministry. According to the distribution agency, we are making a tremendous difference in the lives of these fifty people and they are so grateful.
Let’s continue to keep hope alive!
