During the month of June, Genesis Covenant Church, along with other churches and organizations, partnered with the Office of the Sheriff, Domestic Violence Division, Prince George’s County, Maryland in providing resources to persons who may be coming out of an abusive environment. We were informed that the number of Domestic Violence cases in Prince George’s County have increased significantly, and there is a desperate need for resources. Many persons donated an enormous number of non-perishable foods, clothing for infants, children and adults. Other items included, but were not limited to, diapers, pull-ups, wipes, blankets, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, masks, body lotion, and other items. We are grateful for your continued support and contributions. We believe that God has called us to step outside of the four walls of a building and meet the needs of those who may be suffering in our communities. These are some very difficult times for many people, and those of us who call ourselves Christians must do more in our communities to help. We realize we can’t save the world, but we do know that we can do something that will be a blessing to those who are in need. We believe that there is power in prayer, but rejoicing can take place when eyes can see and ears can hear the wonders of God.
Items were picked up by the Sheriff Department, Special Victim Advocates, on Thursday, June 30, 2022. The collected items will now be distributed to victims as they receive a protective order (See pictures).
We are grateful to every person who contributed in some way. Your contribution will relieve some victims from being stressed and feeling hopeless during the healing process.
