When I Woke Up This Morning! (Valentine’s Day)

1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient, love is kind, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps not record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

If you are a person who believes in love, today should be a very special day for you. Yes, it is easy to say every day is a special day for you and the people you love, but go the extra mile today and show some love in a very unique way.  It is a day to let all the people in your life who you love know they are special to you. It may be difficult to contact each of them, but take time to let some spouse, child, friend, BFF, etc. know that you love them dearly and unconditionally. It is not a sign of weakness for a man to let down his guards and let another man know that they are loved. The same holds true for women.

Now that we are on the backside of the pandemic, we are able to now go to special places that were not available to us over a year ago. It does not matter who you are, everybody wants to be loved. Today does not have to be one of extravagance, but it can be a day of simplicity, yet unique and one that will be cherished.

Doesn’t it do your heart good to hear your children say, “I love you mom and dad.” Doesn’t it do your heart good to every now and then hear your partner say, “I love you.” It should do our hearts good to hear anyone say they love us. If you have not heard those special words from your family recently, it is time for a check-up and today is a good day to do something about it.

My attempt is to keep the message short so that you may get the essence of the message. The point is to love on somebody today and it may be reciprocated. We are living in a time that it sometimes seems as if love has evaporated into the atmosphere. There is so much hatred and evil in the world and I believe only love can conquer hatred.

To all believers, we know that Jesus taught us all that we need to know about love. For He laid down his life for us and taught us that love is self-sacrificing, generous, unending, and eternal.

The Bible provides a definition of love in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7: “Love is patient, love is kind, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps not record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

1 Corinthians 13 is considered the “Love Chapter,” and it demonstrates how God calls us to show love to others. Again, take time and show some love, not because I say so, but because love is what the world needs now.

Have a wonderful day filled with showering others with love!

Just my thoughts!
